About the project
Useful image tools should be private by default.
ImgTidy is a focused collection of browser tools for routine image tasks.
Many everyday tasks require changing an image in a very small way: making a file smaller, resizing it for a form, cleaning its metadata, or fitting it into a social profile. Those tasks should not require an account, a subscription, or sending a private file to an unknown server.
This project uses modern browser capabilities to handle image work locally. The first release focuses on five useful tasks: compression, resizing, conversion, social cropping, and metadata removal.
Our principles
- Useful first: each page solves one clearly defined job.
- Local by default: source images are processed in the browser.
- No unnecessary accounts: open a tool and download the result.
- Honest limits: browsers and small file-size targets impose real constraints.
